What to do on a Monday night?

Was going to go see a Broadway show tonight, but the line was a mile long, so I went wandering instead.  I found various interesting things along the way.

Here's the Ed Sullivan Theatre, where Letterman is filmed.

More obscure, but I was excited:  this is the Brill Building, which is one of the iconic music industry locations where some incredibly influential songwriters worked.  See the Wikipedia page for more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brill_Building

And here is Grand Central Station.

You can't see it in the thumbnail, but if you look at the information screen, you'll be pleased to know that you can expect 'Good Service' on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines.  I found that intriguing.  What happens when there's a problem?  Do they advertise that one can expect 'Bad Service'?  'Poor Service'?  'Dreadful Service'?

Then in quick succession I located the UN, Trump World Tower, and the Waldorf Astoria.

And finished up the night with a trip to Top of the Rock, which has three Observation Decks.  The visibility was dreadful, but you get the idea from the photos.  This is looking downtown, with the Empire State Building lit up in red:

And this is looking up towards Central Park:

And here's some goose pulling funny poses :)
